Cairo Festival City unveils phase one of its residential district, Oriana

Cairo, November 4th, 2009 – Cairo Festival City announced the launch and sales of phase one of Oriana villas during a gala dinner hosted on their premises, overlooking the villa construction site. Phase one is 172 villas out of the 480 total to be built within the Oriana community and is expected to help meet the rising demand for residential housing in New Cairo which is projected to be over 2 million by 2020.

Cairo, 14th October, 2009 – Al Futtaim Group Real Estate formally launched the leasing of Cairo Festival City’s Festival Centre to potential retailers, at a gala event hosted onsite and attended by CEO, Omar Al-Futtaim, Brett Schafer, Senior Managing Director of AFGRE, Philip Evans, Director-Retail Leasing (AFGRE), Mohamed ElMikawi, Senior General Manager of Cairo Festival City, international and local retailers and Egyptian cinema stars, Esaad Younes and Tamer Amin. Expected to open in early 2012, Festival Centre will offer more than 160,000 sq m, gross leasable area, of retail and leisure space.

Al Futtaim Group Real Estate Signed with Major Contractors for 419 million EGP

CAIRO, EGYPT, 2 August 2009 – After closing two contracts worth a combined value of 419 million EGP with SIAC and the Arabian Construction Company (ACC), the first phase of Cairo Festival City’s residential district is now underway. SIAC, which has already begun construction, was awarded a 316 million EGP contract and ACC, expected to begin developing Oriana’s infrastructure early September was provided a 103 million EGP contract.

Cairo Festival City, a leading mixed use development project, walked away with the Retail and Leisure International (RLI) Award for best future project during a star studded awards ceremony that was recently held in England. The event hosted key players in the retail and leisure industries. This award endowed Festival Center – Cairo’s premiere indoor-outdoor retail experience- with a global recognition.
